Access to the Village in semi-residential regime occurs through an application submitted by the family member and/or support administrator. People with diagnosis of mild and moderate Alzheimer’s are admitted, without severe behavioral disorders, and with compensated comorbidity, compatible with the pathology. Attendance is two to three times a week for a maximum of 20 people per day.
The access evaluation is not only medical but psycho-social and is carried out by a multidisciplinary team.
The care procedure includes:
application submission by caregiver and/or support administrator, multidisciplinary evaluation, care decision during team meeting, placement in day centre, periodic re-evaluation every 3 months.
The guest is discharged upon their own or family request, or when psychophysical wellbeing conditions require different forms of assistance from those offered, at the unquestionable judgment of the Management.
The semi-residential facility operates six hours a day, 5 days a week, for 11.5 months a year.
Staff and structure
The staff, trained according to regional regulations, is the same as the family homes. It adheres to ethical and professional rules.
The staff is composed of:
- Psychologist
- Social worker
- Professional educator
- Occupational therapist
- Social and healthcare workers
- Nurses
- Art therapists
The structure is designed to accommodate no more than 20 people per day, guaranteeing free social-care services. It is accessible, without architectural barriers, and spans 415 square meters, integrated into the Village with dedicated spaces.
The activity carried out in the semi-residential facility aims to maintain the person’s preserved abilities and aims, within the personalised care plan, to satisfy socialisation and care needs.
Life in the Fondazione Roma Village
For each guest, a personalised care plan is prepared, with objectives to maintain cognitive, physical and relational abilities. Daily activities are organised in group workshops, respecting care and social needs.
The activity programming ensures equal treatment for all guests in terms of accuracy, professionalism and attention and also guarantees:
- Respect for dignity and personal freedom
- Respect for individual choices (clothing, self-care)
- Stimulating and comfortable environment
- Family involvement to maintain emotional bonds
- Promotion of new emotional bonds
- Openness to social integration with external entities
Common areas include spaces for dining, reception, rest and recreation, with spaces for occupational activities, hortitherapy and gardening.
There is also a space for setting up the “snoezelen room”. Almost all rooms are interconnected and can be divided by movable walls, to obtain maximum flexibility of use.
